The following is a partial list of layman’s terms and definitions. Odds are our political scientists et al. will prefer more academic or scholarly terms for some/many/most of them.
100% Political/Ideological (PI) War strategy
90% Apolitical/Non-Ideological (ANI) strategy
democracy destroying pathogen (DDP): principally self-servingism, (naked) political ambition, political power-lust: human shortcomings of elected officials that undermine democracy/democratic institutions.
dysfunctionalizing legislation (DL): legislation crafted by PAPs in PAP-controlled Congresses.
dysfunctionalizing legislative provision (DLP): provision inserted into a bill for self-serving reasons.
dystopic democracy: a democracy whose national legislature is permanently controlled by PAPs.
effective self-governance: the ability of a free society's voters to keep their national legislature continually replenished with PKQ-caliber legislators.
ineffective self-governance: the inability of a free society's voters to keep their national legislature continually replenished with PKQ-caliber legislators.
neartopic democracy: a democracy whose national legislature is permanently controlled by PKQ-caliber legislators.
normative legislative policy: a policy that the vast mainstream (VM) of society would consider the best policy option among all policy options.
PAP: politically ambitious politician.
PAP-crafted [legislation, policies, solutions, etc.]
PKQ: philosopher king/queen-caliber candidate/legislator.
PKQ-crafted [legislation, policies, solutions, etc.]
S-G aware: understanding that political ambition can be treated as a necessary evil at the local and, to a lesser extent, state level. But, at the national legislative level, electing PAPs, no matter how well-meaning they may be, is like parents hiring known child molesters to babysit their children.
